Iraqis in Britain strongly condemns the latest Turkish military incursion into Iraqi Kurdistan. The
Turkish extensive aerial attacks started on 16 December 2007, it resulted in the destruction of
peaceful settlements and the killing and wounding of civilians.
"Another war is starting in Iraq. Iraqis feel they are being invaded again, war is never simple, it's
about killing and destruction." Said Jabbar Hasan of Iraqi Association in London.
The destabilisation of Iraqi Kurdistan, the only relatively peaceful area of the country, will
jeopardise the palpable and fragile improvement in the security situation in Iraq over the past year.
"The latest military operation can only be regarded as an invasion, an attack against the rights
gained by the Kurdish people and a serious violation of international law." Said Jabbar Hasan.
It will result in misery and suffering, with more refugees and more internally displaced people. We
demand an immediate end to this incursion.
